All canal holidays with Flagships have boats that are purpose built as hotel boats, retaining the
traditional decoration, but offering modern comforts.
The hotel boats sparkle and gleam and are truly the Flagships of the
waterways. The boats operate in pairs, to give you space to
sit in the fresh air, comfortable lounges, communal dining rooms
and comfortable private cabins. All cabins have running hot and
cold running water and many have en-suite showers and toilets.
Cabins are available as single, twin or double.
The design of narrow boats is unique to Britain, and the boats
need to be only seven feet wide to fit into some of the historic
locks. Hence, the cabins are necessarily compact, but exceedingly
well planned to offer you comfortable accommodation for
perfect canal holidays.
Much of Britain's wildlife can be seen at close quarters on our canal
holidays in England & Wales,
as flowers, birds and animals find the waterways an attractive habitat.
There are plenty of places to interest everyone by the waterway -
museums, art galleries, magnificent architecture, theatres, canalside
shops, churches and cathedrals, battlefields and historic railways all
feature amongst our canal holidays. In addition, we pass quaint old villages
and inns, and on some canal holidays we pass through the secret parts of towns
and cities.
The boats are like small family-run hotels, but offering you a different
view from your window each night. The friendly crew are there to look
after you in style and take care of navigating the hotel boats. They will act
as expert guides to the area you travel through. Each waterway has its
own character - if you have difficulty deciding which of our canal
holidays might suit
you best, just contact us and we'll be glad to advise without
obligation.
Because we travel at a leisurely pace, we are able to tailor the
canal holidays
to suit your interests - the skipper will always discuss the forthcoming
journey with the guests and offer choices to suit you. Hotel boat
canal holidays have been available for over fifty years now, but we know that
very many people have never heard of them - but they are all delighted
when they do discover us.
