Questions about a barge cruise? UK barge vacation or England barge cruise?

Because a holiday on a hotel boat is different to other holidays, you may have some questions about the holiday, for instance some people talk about a barge cruise  and vacations. We've attempted to answer some of these questions below, but we're always happy to talk with you about anything, so just call or e-mail any of the hotel boats, who will be happy to discuss the idea of a barge cruise with you without any pressure. We work with each other, so we are able to recommend the barge cruise that would suit you best.

Is this what might be called a 'barge cruise' or 'barge vacation'? Many people do refer to all canal boats as 'barges' but strictly speaking our hotel boats are all 'narrowboats'. But you can still call it an England barge cruise or a UK barge vacation, we do know what you mean! And you'll enjoy it just as much!
What is included? All meals - including lavish dinners, a comfortable bedroom (available as single, double or twin bedded) with hot and cold water (most rooms have private toilets or showers), hanging space, all linen, towels and soaps.
How do I decide which barge cruise to choose? A barge cruise is available from March to October - the schedule gives details of all every  barge cruise we have to offer.
If you are unsure which barge cruise would suit you best, just contact any of the operators - they will be happy to discuss the merits of various routes with you. Since accommodation is limited, the more popular of the barge cruise fill up early, so you are advised to book soon to avoid disappointment
Who will I meet on a barge cruise? The barge cruise holidays are suitable for singles, couples, friends, or small parties (the boats all carry fewer than ten guests at a time, but can accept whole boat charters).
The boats are all able to offer single cabins (with no single supplements), and many guests come on their own, as a wonderful way to enjoy travel with a small friendly party of people, who will quickly become firm friends.
Children can normally only be accommodated as part of a whole boat charter. Access to the boats is generally easy, but if in doubt, please ask.
Will my diet be a problem? The chefs on the barge cruise will be only too pleased to cater for special diets, as long as they know in advance.
Getting To and From the Barge Cruise? Most barge cruises start near rail or coach stations. Detailed joining instructions will be sent before you start your barge cruise holiday. If you travel by car, then parking can usually be arranged for you. Some operators arrange transport direct to the boats. If in any doubt about travel arrangements, the operators will be pleased to assist you.
Value for Money? The holiday is excellent value for money, as they are fully inclusive. The rates for each barge cruise are shown in the list of cruises. Once you are on the boats, there are practically no other costs involved.
How to Book
Simply contact any of our operators - they will be pleased to chat to you about their boats, talk about which routes would be most enjoyable for you or tell you the availability of cabins. They can arrange a provisional booking over the phone, or send you their own colour brochures if you would like more details.
All our cruises comply with the EC Package Travel Directive to safeguard your holiday.
